Introduced by Pedigree Toys & Dolls as a refreshed version of their popular British fashion doll, Sindy. This update marked a clear style shift from the softer early-1960s look to a more contemporary late-sixties fashion image.
The 1968 version is often called “Side Part Sindy” because of her distinctive long hair styled with a deep side part and turned-up ends. She retained rooted eyelashes and a youthful face sculpt but featured a modified body with slightly longer legs and a slimmer silhouette compared to earlier releases. Most dolls from this period were manufactured in Hong Kong, while some clothing for the UK market continued to be made in England.
New Look Sindy was sold in a range of outfit variations rather than a single standard costume, reflecting Pedigree’s growing focus on mix-and-match fashion. Today, she represents an important transitional model in Sindy’s late-1960s evolution and is highly regarded by collectors.
